A new phase of the TVET professional retraining program, implemented under the REMARKET project, has launched in Ukraine. The initiative aims to help residents of affected and border regions acquire relevant skills demanded by the modern labor market and achieve financial independence.
Geography and target audience
The program covers eight regions of the country: Odesa, Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytskyi, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Lviv. Organizers are placing special emphasis on supporting vulnerable categories of citizens. Priority in selection is given to:
- Women;
- Persons with disabilities;
- Youth aged 18 to 25 without work experience;
- Citizens over 50 years old;
- Veterans;
- Representatives of ethnic minorities.
It is important to note that participation in the program is a one-time opportunity: each person can undergo training only once.
From sewing workshops to IT marketing: which professions are available
The key feature of the initiative is a focus on real employer demand. Basic training directions include garment production, baking, and beekeeping. These sectors are traditionally stable and allow for a quick start to work.
However, the program is not limited to crafts. Depending on the individual needs of participants, courses in more complex and modern specialties are available:
- Construction;
- Logistics;
- Marketing;
- Maintenance;
- Professional services.
Training format and results
Training is organized to be maximally practical. Classes are held in an offline format or a blended mode, necessarily including practice. Upon completion of the course, participants receive an official certificate or diploma confirming their new qualification.
How to apply
To register, you must contact the program representatives accredited in your region of residence. The project is implemented by a consortium of international and local organizations: Caritas Switzerland, Caritas Ukraine, Caritas-Spes Ukraine, and SPARK. In addition to employment issues, changes in the social sphere continue in Ukraine. Thus, in July, the payment amounts for internally displaced persons (IDPs) will remain the same, however, some citizens are obliged to update their data in the database in a timely manner to avoid suspension of assistance.
