Acer has decided to turn the mobile gaming market upside down by unveiling at Computex 2026 a model that sounds like science fiction but is available right here and now. The new Acer Nitro 16 is not just another lineup update, but an attempt to make top-tier performance truly mass-market. At the heart of the new device lies a powerful duo: the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX3D processor and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card.

Power for Everyone?

Using a processor with 3D V-Cache technology paired with a next-gen graphics card is a move usually reserved for ultra-premium models. Acer, however, places this combination in a chassis positioned as "accessible to all." This is a bold move that could seriously reshape the balance of power in the mid-to-high price segments.

Visuals and Multimedia

The new Nitro 16's screen is a 16-inch panel with WQXGA resolution (2560 × 1600). The refresh rate reaches 240 Hz, and response time is reduced to 3 ms. Color reproduction is top-notch: sRGB coverage is 100%, making the laptop suitable not only for esports but also for graphic design work.

Under the Hood and Cooling

To tame the power of the Ryzen 9 and RTX 5070 Ti, engineers employed a dual-fan system with Vector heat pipes. Maximum RAM capacity is 32 GB, and data storage is provided by two M.2 SSD slots, each supporting up to 1 TB.

Connectivity and Ergonomics

The port selection looks impressive: it includes USB 4 Type-C, a pair of USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, an outdated but useful USB 2.0, a full-sized HDMI 2.1, and a microSD card slot. Wireless technologies are represented by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. Audio is handled by stereo speakers with DTS:X Ultra support.

The device dimensions (357 × 276 mm) and weight of 2.5 kg make it relatively mobile for such performance. The chassis thickness ranges from 22 to 28 mm. For fine-tuning system operation, including fan control, the proprietary Acer NitroSense utility is provided.
