On Monday, July 6, an unprecedented event occurred on Russian territory: air raid sirens sounded in the Novosibirsk Oblast for the first time since the start of the full-scale war. This event came as a shock to the region, located more than 3,500 kilometers from the Ukrainian border.

Official confirmation came from the Russian system for warning and liquidation of emergency situations. The drone threat, previously considered local to border zones, was recorded for the first time deep in Siberia. This indicates a radical change in tactics and an expansion of the range of strike systems.

New Reality: Strikes at a Distance of 3,000 km

The events in Novosibirsk became part of a massive wave of attacks. On the same day, Ukrainian drones covered a colossal distance — up to 3,000 kilometers — and struck the Omsk Oil Refinery. This marked the first time that objects of such scale in Siberia were hit since the beginning of the conflict.

According to Denis Stillerman, the chief designer of Fire Point, the attack was carried out using FP-1 drones. According to technical specifications, these unmanned aerial vehicles are capable of reaching targets located up to 3,400 km from the state border. The realization of this potential during the operation confirms that Russia's "deep rear" is no longer a safe zone.

Scale of Operation: From Refineries to Crimea

The attack on Siberia was not an isolated incident. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), together with Defense Forces units, conducted a synchronized operation across the entire territory of the Russian Federation. On this day, two major oil refineries and a number of critically important military objects in temporarily occupied Crimea came under attack.

Among the targets of the attacks in the European part of Russia were:

  • Yaroslavl Oil Refinery;
  • "NOVATEK-Ust-Luga" Refinery;
  • Fuel terminal in the city of Vysotsk.

In Crimea, the strikes were focused on military infrastructure. Drones attacked the "Gvardeyskoye" airfield and the "Pantsir-S2" anti-aircraft missile system, causing direct damage to the defensive capabilities of the occupation forces on the peninsula.

Reaction of the Occupation Command

The activity of Ukrainian forces in blocking logistical routes and attacking objects in Crimea forced the Russian command to reconsider its plans. Special staff exercises were conducted on the occupied peninsula. During these maneuvers, Russian troops practiced scenarios for repelling attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, specifically preparing for a possible amphibious landing. This indicates that Ukrainian strikes not only cause material damage but also force the enemy to spend resources on defense and restructuring strategic plans.
