Initially, the brothers served at the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support in Poltava, after which they decided to join the 47th Separate Mechanized Brigade. During their training in Germany, they studied the Military Design Making Process methodology — a process aimed at the systematic design of military solutions. Reva's combat experience is linked to the Zaporizhzhia direction, where he was involved in digitalizing personnel management processes within a military unit. He later served in the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Before his appointment to the state position, Aleksey Reva was directly involved in developing the digital platforms "Army+" and "Reserve+" at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine — services designed to automate interaction between military structures and citizens. He received his education at the Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava National Technical University (Poltava Polytechnic), where he also engaged in research.
