At the Computex 2026 international exhibition, AMD officially announced the global launch of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE graphics card. Previously, this model was available exclusively in the Chinese market, but now it will be accessible to gamers worldwide.
The new model is positioned as a solution for comfortable gaming at 1440p resolution. AMD explicitly points to the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16 GB of memory as its main competitor. The recommended price (SEP) for the Radeon RX 9070 GRE starts at $549 USD.
Technical Specifications and Architecture
The graphics card is based on the RDNA 4 architecture. According to official data presented at the launch, the chip features the following parameters:
- Compute Units: 48 AMD RDNA 4 Compute Units.
- Ray Tracing: 48 3rd Gen. Raytracing Accelerators.
- Artificial Intelligence: 96 2nd Gen. AI Accelerators.
- Clock Speed: Max Boost Clock reaches up to 2.79 GHz.

Unlike standard versions, the GRE model is based on the cut-down Navi 48 graphics chip. The configuration includes 3072 stream processors and a 192-bit memory interface through which the GPU interacts with GDDR6 chips.

According to the announcement, global availability of the Radeon RX 9070 GRE will begin on June 1st, 2026. This move aims to expand the range of available mid-range graphics cards and offer gamers an alternative to competitor products in the sub-$600 price range.
