Hollywood actress and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie continues her unannounced trip across Ukraine. On September 1, 2026, the celebrity was spotted in Poltava, where she was having breakfast at the restaurant of the Premier Hotel Palazzo. This was reported by Wave RBC.UA, citing video footage from eyewitnesses. The actress was accompanied by representatives of an international charitable foundation, which confirms the humanitarian nature of the visit.

An Unexpected Encounter at the Next Table

Blogger Yana Nikitenko, who published a video on Instagram, told the story of her chance encounter with Angelina Jolie at a restaurant in Poltava. According to her, photographing the actress was forbidden, so she simply sat across from her and watched. “Meeting Angelina Jolie in Poltava is some kind of plot I would never have come up with myself. I wasn’t allowed to take photos with her, so I just sat across and admired her. She’s really, really beautiful,” the eyewitness shared. Despite the ban, the blogger admitted that “her hands reached for her phone on their own,” and she managed to capture a short clip on camera, apologizing to the actress for doing so.

A Route Through Several Cities

Angelina’s appearance in Poltava became the latest episode of her multi-day tour of Ukraine. In recent days, before the Poltava stop, Jolie had already been spotted in several cities: reports mentioned her presence in Ternopil, Krementchuk, Kharkiv, and Lviv. The trip was not officially announced, which is typical for humanitarian visits by a UNICEF ambassador, allowing the actress to visit the necessary institutions and meet local residents without excessive attention.

The Third Visit: From Lviv in 2022 to Poltava in 2026

The current trip is Angelina Jolie’s third visit to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. The first took place in April 2022: at that time, the actress made a private humanitarian trip to Lviv, where she spoke with Ukrainians forced to leave their homes because of the war. During that visit, she also met with volunteers and children affected by a Russian missile strike on the railway station in Kramatorsk.

The second visit took place in November 2025. At that time, Jolie visited Kherson and Mykolaiv, toured underground schools and medical facilities, and met with local families, medical workers, and volunteers. Thus, over four years since the start of the conflict, the actress has come to Ukraine three times, each time choosing different regions and focusing on working with vulnerable groups — children, refugees, and medical staff.

The Role of a UNICEF Ambassador in Wartime

Angelina Jolie has held the position of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2001. Amid the ongoing conflict, her visits to Ukraine are predominantly humanitarian in nature: the actress visits schools, hospitals, displacement centers, and meets with volunteer organizations. The presence of representatives of an international charitable foundation, noted in Poltava, indicates that the current trip is also linked to work within the UNICEF mandate, rather than to entertainment or commercial purposes.
