Ukrainian tennis player Angelina Kalinina ended her participation in the prestigious WTA 1000 tournament in Toronto, losing in the first round to Hungarian Anna Bondar. The match was a tough contest, and although the Ukrainian managed to win two sets, she ultimately lost the encounter.
Match details: missed chances and a fight to the end
The first set was quite even, and Kalinina had real chances to avoid losing this period. However, on her serve at 4-5, she made a mistake, allowing Bondar to win the set. Notably, the Hungarian failed to convert six set points and only succeeded on the seventh attempt. At the same time, Kalinina also failed to convert four set points, which became the decisive factor in the outcome of the set.
In the second set, both tennis players regularly exchanged breaks, creating a tense atmosphere on the court. In the end, Bondar managed to snatch victory with a score of 7-5, concluding the match in her favor.

In the spring, the 29-year-old Ukrainian showed excellent results, winning two consecutive tournaments in Antalya and reaching the final of the tournament in Rabat, Morocco. However, in the summer, she failed to advance to at least one main round in all tournaments except the last one in Hamburg. There, Angelina passed two rounds and was eliminated in the third round of the competition by Tamara Korpatsch.

Interestingly, Anna Bondar also reached the final at that same tournament in Hamburg and also lost to Tamara Korpatsch.
