Famous Ukrainian karateka Anzhelika Terliuga has decided to return to professional sports after giving birth to her daughter and overcoming an injury. The athlete admitted that this step was incredibly difficult for her, but the thirst for competition and her ultimate dream are pushing her back onto the tatami.
The Path of Overcoming and Returning After Maternity Leave
After the birth of her daughter Nicole, the athlete faced a difficult moral choice. Anzhelika confessed that her biggest fear was losing herself as a professional athlete. At the end of 2025, she decided to make a comeback, but reality turned out to be much harsher than expected. The recovery process required titanic work, constant struggle with physical pain, and overcoming psychological barriers.
Main Motivation and the Dream of a Title
The main incentive for the Ukrainian athlete was the opportunity to prove to herself and others that after so many trials, she can return to a competitive level. Terliuga openly stated that her cherished dream is winning the World Championship, which she has not yet fully conquered. According to the karateka, she is preparing for the final push in her career.
