The Ukrainian electronics market is preparing for another round of price adjustments. The global revision of Apple product pricing, affecting Mac laptops and iPad tablets, will inevitably impact prices in Ukraine as well. Ivan Pavlik, General Director of the authorized distributor «ASBIS-Ukraine», shared details on the specifics, timelines, and adaptation strategies.
Global trend and local reality
Apple has already announced a price review for key device categories. The price increase primarily affects Mac laptops and iPad tablets. Meanwhile, iPhone smartphones currently remain in the previous price bracket — a price list update for them has not yet occurred. However, according to company representatives, the adjustment will also affect the new iPhone lineup in the autumn of 2025.
The exact magnitude of the price increase for the Ukrainian market has not yet been announced. As Ivan Pavlik noted, this is due to the complexity of the calculation: it is necessary to take into account all factors of local pricing — from logistics to taxes and exchange rates. The new price grid in the US can serve as a benchmark, but a direct transfer of these figures is impossible.
"The price review is global in nature, so it will gradually be reflected in the Ukrainian market as well. Between the price review announced by Apple and the update of price lists in Ukraine, a certain, not very long period will pass," emphasized Pavlik.
How to maintain device affordability?
Realizing that rising prices may reduce purchasing activity, «ASBIS-Ukraine» is already preparing measures to maintain product accessibility. The key tool will be an extension of the installment period: the maximum number of payments will increase from 10 to 15. This will allow buyers to distribute the financial burden and maintain the ability to purchase devices even as prices rise.
In addition, the company is betting on trade-in programs, partner financial solutions, official warranty, and service maintenance. These elements are becoming increasingly important for consumers who are increasingly choosing official sales channels.
Growth of the official market share
An interesting trend is observed in the sales structure: the share of authorized sellers is steadily growing. According to the company's estimates, in the autumn of 2025, about 20% of iPhones were sold through official channels, whereas now this figure has reached 35–40%. Accordingly, the share of the "gray" market has decreased from 80% to 60–65%.
"Although price remains an important factor, more and more buyers are paying attention to the advantages of the official sales channel," notes Pavlik. Official warranty, service, support, and transparency of terms are becoming decisive arguments for many.
Supplies without disruptions
Despite the global shortage of certain components, the authorized distributor does not expect problems with supplies to Ukraine. "To date, we do not see grounds for a systemic shortage of products, and our task as an authorized distributor is to ensure the continuity of supplies and the availability of key models for partners and buyers," emphasized Pavlik.
Thus, the Ukrainian market is preparing for an inevitable price increase, but at the same time maintains mechanisms to support buyers and supply stability. In the face of global economic challenges, Apple and its partners demonstrate flexibility and a focus on long-term relationships with customers.
