During the meeting in the "Ramstein" format, large-scale new military aid packages for Ukraine were announced. According to Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov, the total amount of support from partners could amount to around 4 billion dollars. The final figure is still being clarified, but it is already clear: Western allies are ready to increase the volume of deliveries after seeing the results of Kyiv's actions on the battlefield.

Key areas of support

The Defense Minister emphasized that many partners have assessed Ukraine's successes in various domains of the war and believe that a "window of opportunity" has arrived to strengthen support. Among the announced measures is an aid package totaling 1 billion dollars, as well as the allocation of funds for long-range artillery (with a range of more than 30 km).

Special attention is paid to three priority areas:

  • Anti-ballistic missile program;
  • Air defense program;
  • Long-range artillery and Ukrainian-made drones.

Fedorov noted that it is precisely the drones created in Ukraine that play a key role in stopping the enemy and conducting operations to strike targets on enemy territory.

Contribution of individual countries

The Netherlands announced aid including around 700 cruise missiles. Germany has also expanded its commitments: Defense Minister Boris Pistorius confirmed the transfer of another IRIS-T system, the acceleration of deliveries of IRIS-T SLS and SLM guided missiles, as well as the allocation of a three-digit number of air-to-air missiles from its own stocks.

In addition, Berlin will allocate $200 million for the purchase of additional PAC-3 missiles under the Jumpstart program. Pistorius emphasized that Germany wants to lead this process and stimulate other partners to take similar actions. Another $200 million will be directed to the PURL program.

The United Kingdom is also preparing a new large-scale aid package. Defense Minister Dan Jarvis reported that it will include radars, missiles for air defense systems, and domestically produced drones.

Belgium announced plans to transfer seven F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine by the end of 2026: three of them will be combat-ready, and four will be donor aircraft intended for use as a source of spare parts.

Results and prospects

Although the exact total of all announced packages is still being calculated, it is obvious that support for Ukraine from Western partners continues to grow. New deliveries are aimed at strengthening defense capabilities, enhancing strike potential, and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the context of the ongoing conflict.
