New owner for the asset of a Russian propagandist
On Tuesday, June 30, the State Property Fund of Ukraine (SPFU) held successful auctions for the privatization of one of the most discussed "sanctioned" apartments in the country. The real estate object, previously belonging to Russian blogger and propagandist Artemy Lebedev, has changed hands. Information about the auction results was published in the fund's Facebook community and confirmed by RBC-Ukraine.
The lot was a spacious three-room apartment located in the historic center of Kyiv. The residential premises, covering an area of 138.5 square meters, features a two-level layout and a panoramic view of the famous Golden Gates. Thanks to its prestigious location and the status of the object, investors showed interest in buying it, leading to fierce competition.
Auction results and winner
Two bidders participated in the auction. During the open competitive bidding, the price of the lot increased significantly. The final cost of the apartment amounted to 13,500,001 hryvnias. This is 3 million hryvnias higher than the starting price set by the auction organizers. The winner of the auction was a legal entity — LLC "Center for Research of Unmanned Systems".
Where the funds will go
The State Property Fund emphasized that the proceeds from the sale will have a specific purpose. The money will be transferred to the Fund for the Liquidation of the Consequences of Armed Aggression. Thus, an asset that previously belonged to a person supporting the war against Ukraine is now directly converted into resources for the restoration of the state.
Representatives of the SPFU noted the symbolic significance of this deal. According to them, the sale of Lebedev's apartment demonstrates that sanctions have not only a political but also a real economic effect. The property of persons involved in aggression no longer serves its owners but is redirected to the needs of Ukraine.
