Connection to the military sector
The company "Russian Laboratory of Air Transport", whose head fell victim to the assassination attempt, specializes in the development and supply of unmanned systems for the needs of the Russian army. Context in occupied Melitopol
The events in Tula are taking place against the backdrop of a tense situation in other regions controlled by Russian troops. In particular, in occupied Melitopol, a series of incidents related to the elimination or attempted assassination of representatives of the new administration have been recorded. As city head Ivan Fedorov reported, as early as spring 2023, Russian occupation authorities began replacing local leaders ("gauleiters"). According to Fedorov, the new appointees were chosen specifically from those capable of performing "dirtier" work; among them were people with dubious reputations and those involved in corruption schemes.
Shortly after these personnel changes in Melitopol, there was an assassination attempt on the deputy head of the so-called regional department of internal affairs. An explosive device detonated at the gates of the official's home, and the injured man was also taken to the hospital.
