The investigation into the explosion at the home of Ukrainian businessman Vadim Ermolaev in Monaco is reaching a decisive stage. The Prince's Attorney General, Stéphane Thibaud, has publicly announced new details of the investigation, confirming that the arrest of the suspect could take place in the near future.
Joint Efforts and the Search for the Perpetrator
Monaco investigators have joined forces with their French counterparts to conduct an operation to locate the person responsible for the explosion. According to Stéphane Thibaud, significant resources and personnel have been deployed to the investigation, offering hope for a swift result. The Attorney General suggested that the fugitive might have fled to Italy, although the official identification of the perpetrator is still ongoing.
At present, officials are not disclosing information regarding whether the suspect has accomplices or organizers. However, insiders from Le Figaro report that the investigation is leaning towards one main theory: the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) may be involved in the attempted assassination.
Objective of the Incident: Warning or Elimination?
According to anonymous sources, Ukrainian intelligence services may have planned not to kill the businessman, but merely to issue a "warning." This theory contradicts the severity of the consequences suffered by the victims of the explosion.
The incident occurred on June 29 in Monte Carlo. An unknown individual left a backpack at the entrance to the residential building and fled. As a result of the explosion, three people were injured: Vadim Ermolaev himself, his wife, and their 13-year-old son. The businessman from Dnipro was hospitalized with serious injuries.
Diplomatic Reaction and Investigation Status
Ukrainian diplomats have already established contact with the Monaco police to clarify the details of the incident. However, Kyiv's official position regarding the investigation's theories remains closed. Local authorities continue the active search for the perpetrator, not ruling out the possibility of his imminent arrest within Europe.
