Attack on 'Gvardeyskoye' and strikes on bridges: how the AFU and SBU are hitting Russian logistics and aviation in Crimea and the Donbas

Strike on a key airfield in Crimea

On the night of July 5, Ukrainian drones struck the 'Gvardeyskoye' airfield in Crimea. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, this facility is one of the key Russian military airfields on the occupied peninsula. It hosts operational-tactical and naval aviation, supporting combat sorties, logistics, and aircraft maintenance.

Previously, on the night of July 1, SBU drones attacked the 'Saki' airfield in Crimea, confirming five hits on hangars housing Su-30 and Su-30SM fighters. On July 3, SBU drones struck 'Saki' again and hit hangars at 'Gvardeyskoye'. Preliminary data suggests that at least seven aircraft were destroyed or damaged in these attacks.

Bridge destruction and strikes on warehouses

In addition to airfields, Ukrainian forces hit two road bridges in the Donetsk region — one over the Hrusky Yalanchyk river near Huselnykove and another over the Kalmius river near Staryi Mariivka. These objects were used by Russian troops to transport personnel, weapons, ammunition, and material resources.

Three Russian ammunition depots were also targeted: in the areas of Makiivka (Donetsk region), Dovzhansk (Luhansk region), and Preobrazhenka (Kherson region).

Systematic actions by defense forces

"The defense forces will continue to systematically carry out measures aimed at stopping the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the General Staff of the AFU stated.

Last week, as part of a 40-day operation, the SBU struck a command post for strike UAVs in the Mykolaiv region, fuel depots in Crimea, and a communications hub near Huliaipole. These actions demonstrate the consistent strategy of Ukrainian forces to deliver precision strikes on the enemy's critical infrastructure.
