Chronology of Attacks and Scale of Destruction
The hostile campaign against Kyiv's digital infrastructure started a few days ago. Initially, data centers in various districts of the city were hit, causing disruptions for internet providers Utel and Patyna, as well as affecting the online systems of the Knyharnia Ye bookstore chain and the popular file-sharing service Fex.NET. One of the heaviest losses was the destruction of hosting provider MiroHost's facilities, where, according to owner Oleksandr Olshansky, about 5% of clients were affected. In the following days, the strikes continued: the Datagroup data center was hit, and on September 25 and 26, the enemy targeted the Cosmonova data center located in the Protasiv Yar area.
Impact on TV Channels and Media Space
The attack on data centers immediately affected the broadcasting of Ukrainian TV channels and the operation of media resources. Due to technical damage and server outages, some broadcasters were forced to temporarily suspend or limit their transmissions. Large-scale problems also affected public broadcasting: video players temporarily stopped working on the Suspilne website. In addition, Kolo.TV provider reported severe service disruptions, with its engineers urgently rerouting traffic and deploying backup capacities.

Representatives of the IT industry and telecommunication companies emphasize that Ukraine's infrastructure demonstrates a high level of resilience thanks to pre-prepared backup sites. Services of Cosmonova and other affected market players are being promptly transferred to backup facilities to minimize inconvenience for users. Despite the complexity of the damage, experts note the coordinated work of technical teams who prevented a complete collapse of the capital's digital networks amid the ongoing threat.
