Explosions in Nighttime Kyiv
The night of July 6 became a time of new serious threat for the capital of Ukraine. Powerful explosions were heard in the city, caused by a ballistic missile attack. Events unfolded rapidly: by 01:40, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine detected a ballistic threat, and just four minutes later confirmed that the missiles were on a course for Kyiv.
The situation required an immediate response from the authorities. The Head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA), Tymur Tkachenko, issued a stern warning to residents. He urged citizens not to ignore the danger and to remain in shelters until the alarm was lifted. Upon receiving new data regarding the flight of ballistic missiles, Tkachenko reiterated his call, emphasizing that the enemy was specifically using ballistic weaponry.
Air Defense Operations and Attack Consequences
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko promptly informed the public that air defense forces were operating over the city. Despite the actions of the air defense, the attack caused damage to infrastructure. According to the head of the KMVA, a residential building in the Podilskyi district was partially destroyed as a result of the strike. Additionally, damage to garage structures was recorded at another address.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted that the threat of ballistic weapon use originated from the southern direction. This event was a continuation of a series of night attacks. Previously, on the night of July 2, Russian occupiers launched a large number of missiles and attack drones at the capital. At that time, a missile hit a high-rise building in the Darnytskyi district, causing a resonance and prompting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to promise a just response.

The night of July 6 was marked not only by strikes on Kyiv but also by attacks on other strategic objects. Russia launched Kalibr cruise missiles at strategic aviation bases housing Tu-95MS and Tu-160 bombers.
