Massive disruptions to life support systems have been recorded in the Russian city of Belgorod following a missile attack on a key energy infrastructure object — the Michurinskaya CHP. According to OSINT channels and reports from Ukrainian Defense Ministry advisor Serhiy Sternenko, the strike has led to serious consequences for the region's utilities.

Partial power and water outages are being observed in Belgorod's residential districts. Residents report serious issues with mobile connectivity and internet access. Russian emergency services have confirmed significant damage to the networks, leading to a power deficit in the city.
Due to the cessation of stable electricity supply, several strategic water supply facilities have been completely cut off from power. This has created a critical situation for the population, which relies on centralized life support systems.
Strategic Importance of Michurinskaya CHP
The Michurinskaya CHP is a key facility providing energy to the production and administrative capacities of the large industrial enterprise "Belenergomash - BZEM". The plant specializes in the production of pipes, foldable metal structures, and energy equipment for the Russian industry.
The capacity of the damaged thermal power plant ranges from 24.2 MW to 36 MW. The destruction or damage of such an object deals a significant blow to the industrial potential of the region and the entire energy system of the Belgorod region.
Context of Continuing Strikes
Ukrainian Defense Forces continue to systematically destroy the enemy's energy and oil refining infrastructure. In just 48 hours (July 1 and 2), Ukrainian strike drones successfully hit 12 substations and one gas distribution station in the temporarily occupied territories of Crimea and the Donbas.
On the night of July 2, Ukrainian drones struck an oil refinery in the city of Kstovo in the Nizhny Novgorod region. A massive fire broke out at the facility following the attack. Another strategically important object is located near the hit oil refinery.
In total, Ukrainian forces have already successfully struck eight of the ten largest oil refineries on Russian territory. Some of these enterprises have been attacked multiple times, indicating the systematic nature of the campaign to destroy the enemy's energy infrastructure.
