Ukrainian tennis player Marta Kostyuk has shared details of her collaboration with a specialized psychologist who previously worked in the prestigious Formula 1 racing series. According to the athlete, this unconventional approach is already bearing fruit, helping her cope more effectively with stressful situations on the court and during lengthy international tournaments.

A new approach to mental preparation

Kostyuk emphasized that at this stage, she clearly sees progress and positive changes in her psycho-emotional state. The main achievement of their joint work has been the ability to consciously control energy expenditure, which is critically important in tennis, where matches can last for hours and the tournament calendar is extremely packed.

Individual characteristics of stress

During a media meeting organized by the Marta Kostyuk Foundation, the tennis player explained that the body's reaction to stress and immense pressure is strictly individual. Some athletes lose more mental energy, while others face physical resource depletion even with minimal external activity.

Practical aspects of energy conservation

As a clear example, the athlete cited special exercises where a person is visually motionless, yet their heart rate exceeds 100 beats per minute. This is clear evidence that colossal energy expenditures occur on an internal level, and the modern training methodology aims precisely to minimize such hidden energy losses.
