The relationship between actor Vladimir Rashchuk and his ex-wife, actress Victoria Bilan-Rashchuk, has once again become the center of attention for the Ukrainian media public. The reason for the discussion was the baptism ceremony of their common son, Yarema, which took place in May. While the man claimed that he was completely excluded from the process and did not even know about the event, Victoria gave a detailed comment in a new interview, refuting these claims.
Joint decision or unilateral will?
Vladimir Rashchuk previously stated in a comment to the publication 'Ranok u velykomu misti' that his son's baptism was organized by his former wife without his participation. According to the actor, he was not present at the event and was not even aware that it was going to take place. He emphasized that the choice of godparents and the organization of the event were made exclusively by Victoria.
However, in an interview with OBOZ.UA, published by RBC-Ukraine, the actress presented a different picture of events. She emphasized that the question of choosing godparents was discussed with her former husband even before the ceremony.
"Talking is not carrying sacks. We chose most of the godparents together. Moreover, we even offered many of them to become godparents to Yarema together. He also knew about the baptism itself. We chose the church together, discussed together where we would baptize our son," Victoria noted.
Blocking contacts and the silence of the brother-in-arms
The actress also clarified the details of communication with her ex-husband. According to her, Vladimir definitely knew the date and place of the ceremony. The final decision on the date was made taking into account the arrival of one of the godmothers from abroad, and this information was conveyed to the husband.
"He knew the place and the date... But then we stopped communicating, he blocked me everywhere, but still," Bilan-Rashchuk shared.
Victoria paid special attention to the reaction of Vladimir's circle. Among those invited to the baptism were long-time friends of the family, colleagues from the acting profession, and even Rashchuk's brother-in-arms. The actress said that the brother-in-arms specifically asked to leave the front to be present at the event and warned Vladimir about it.
"His brother-in-arms, who specifically asked to leave the front for the baptism, called him and said that he was going to Yarema's baptism on such-and-such a date, at such-and-such a place. Vladimir simply remained silent in response," Victoria revealed.
Divorce and personal dramas
The events surrounding the son's baptism are taking place against the backdrop of the official end of a long-term marriage. In early June, Victoria Bilan-Rashchuk announced her divorce after 11 years of marriage. Vladimir Rashchuk himself did not appear at the court hearing.
Previously, in April, the actor publicly announced the breakup, stating a "reassessment of values" and the appearance of new love. In turn, Victoria revealed more painful details of the breakup in an interview. She said that her husband cheated on her during her pregnancy. The actress herself admitted that she went through several unsuccessful IVF attempts to have a child.
Victoria Bilan-Rashchuk also touched on the topic of her professional activities, talking about the reasons for leaving the Lesya Ukrainka Theatre, as well as about the current status of her relationship with her ex-husband and the possibility of his communication with her son.
