The night of July 2 became not only a time of a large-scale military attack for Kyiv, but also a blow to the capital's commercial infrastructure. Missile strikes and drones caused significant damage to a number of major Ukrainian companies, affecting the retail, logistics, energy, and hospitality sectors. The consequences of the attack are already being felt in service disruptions and delays in goods deliveries.
Complete destruction of the MOYO warehouse
One of the most significant consequences of the attack was the announcement from the electronics chain MOYO. As a result of a direct hit, the company's Kyiv warehouse burned down completely. The fire destroyed not only stock but also office premises. The company's press service confirmed the scale of the disaster but brought good news: there were no casualties or injuries among the staff.
Despite the catastrophic loss of infrastructure, MOYO is not stopping operations. The website continues to accept new orders, however, customers have been warned about possible delivery delays. If order fulfillment becomes impossible, funds will be refunded to buyers in full. Currently, the company is focused on mitigating the consequences and restoring logistics chains.
Logistics and communications under attack
Strikes on logistics hubs paralyzed the operations of several key market players. The logistics center of "Nova Poshta" in the Obolon district of Kyiv was destroyed. Fortunately, thanks to timely warnings, all employees managed to take shelter, and casualties were avoided. An additional blow to logistics was dealt in Zaporizhzhia, where a drone hit the sorting center of a courier service.
Telecom operator Vodafone warned subscribers about possible disruptions in the operation of certain services. The operator's specialists have been working since early morning to restore infrastructure damaged during the night shelling.
Losses in retail and publishing business
The ERC Group of Companies, a major distributor of IT products and household appliances, reported significant damage to its office and warehouse complex. The company confirmed that some employees were injured, but there were no fatalities. ERC stated that it has the resources to continue operations and fulfill obligations to partners. The damage is insured, and the company is already preparing documents to claim losses from the aggressor state.
The book market also suffered: the BookChef publishing house lost the central warehouse of logistics partner Denka Logistics, where the main part of the book stock was stored. Due to the destruction of the warehouse, promotions in partner stores have been temporarily suspended, and order processing may be delayed. The publishing house's online store continues to function, working on restructuring logistics.
Damage to infrastructure and the hotel business
In the center of Kyiv, fire engulfed the roof of a historic building where CityHotel Residence is located. According to media reports, European diplomats and expats were staying at the hotel. Room booking on popular platforms is temporarily unavailable. As a result of the attack, the Porsche Center Kyiv Airport dealership was also damaged. Employees sustained injuries, but they are all alive and under medical supervision. The center is temporarily closed, communication is unavailable, and customer interaction has been switched to electronic format.
Energy and restoration
Energy facilities belonging to DTEK were also damaged. As a result of the attack, some Kyiv residents were left without electricity. Energy workers have already begun restoration work at the sites of impact, striving to return the city to a normal rhythm of life as quickly as possible.
