On the night of May 25, Ukrainian Defense Forces carried out a large-scale operation, delivering a series of precision strikes on key military and logistical targets of the enemy. The focus was on a strategically important supply hub — the 'Belets' oil depot in the city of Unecha, Bryansk region, Russia.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the facility was actively used to fuel the occupation army. Destroying or damaging such a base deals a direct blow to the mobility of Russian equipment and its ability to sustain combat operations on the front lines.
The operation was not limited to the Bryansk region. Ukrainian military forces demonstrated the ability to strike targets across the entire depth of the enemy's territory:
- In Crimea, in the Mezghorye area, an ammunition depot was struck.
- In the Donetsk region, ammunition depots near Novoaidarivka and a field artillery depot in the Kremenevka area were hit.
- In the Dokuchaievsk area, a material and technical supply depot was destroyed.
Special attention was paid to disrupting the command and control system. Defense forces eliminated a communications hub in Ivanivka, Donetsk region, and an artillery unit command platoon in the Troitske area, Zaporizhzhia region. This disorganizes the enemy's operations and reduces the effectiveness of their artillery shelling.
The General Staff emphasizes the systematic nature of these actions: the goal is not just to inflict damage, but to force the Russian Federation to stop its aggression. This is confirmed by data on previous strikes: the day before, the 'Tamanneftegaz' terminal in the Krasnodar Krai, depots in the Luhansk region, and drone control points were attacked. Also, at the 'Novorossiysk' base, the patrol ship 'Pytlyvy' and a missile boat were damaged.
