Sumy region has become a new target for Russian drones. This morning, two strikes were launched against the Nova Poshta sorting terminal in Sumy. The attack caused significant damage to infrastructure and affected thousands of shipments awaiting delivery.

Scale of destruction and threat to cargo

According to information from the company itself, the strikes caused serious damage to the building: the roof was destroyed and part of the technological equipment was damaged. Mesh containers intended for storing and sorting parcels suffered particular damage. At the time of the attack, more than 13,000 shipments were inside the terminal. The declared value of this cargo exceeds 42 million hryvnias.

Visually, the consequences of the attack look impressive: twisted metal structures, collapsed roof elements, and debris scattered around the perimeter testify to the high power of the drones used. The incident occurred under conditions where the country's logistics network is already under significant pressure from regular attacks.

Fate of customers and compensation

Fortunately, no terminal employees were injured as a result of the incident. However, Nova Poshta has already stated that it will take responsibility for the loss of customers' property. The official statement says that the company will compensate the declared value of all shipments that were damaged or destroyed during the Russian attack.

Series of strikes on logistics hubs

The attack on the Sumy terminal is not an isolated incident. This is not the first time Russia has struck objects of the largest Ukrainian logistics operator. Previously, Russian drones attacked the company's terminal in Zaporizhzhia. In addition, Nova Poshta lost its most modern hub in Kyiv, which was destroyed as a result of a strike on the capital. The company invested years of work and significant resources in building this facility.

The situation is exacerbated by the fact that strikes on logistics infrastructure paralyze delivery not only in a specific region but also affect the work of the entire network. Parallel to the events in Sumy, the Russian side also struck the Ukrposhta hub in Kharkiv, where damage was also recorded.
