Ukrainian defense forces carried out a large-scale operation in the Sea of Azov, striking dozens of Russian vessels. The targets were objects used by Moscow for military logistics and bypassing international sanctions. This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Strike on the Oil Fleet

According to military data, 21 Russian tankers were hit during the operation aimed at reducing the enemy's military-economic potential. These vessels play a key role in transporting oil and petroleum products to bypass sanctions, ensuring the flow of funds to finance military actions against Ukraine.

Strike on Port Infrastructure

In addition to tankers, Ukrainian forces destroyed or damaged four tugboats, two cargo ships, and a dredger. The General Staff explained that these vessels are critical for ensuring military logistics, cargo transport, and maintaining port infrastructure in the region.

At this time, the extent of the damage and the final results of the operation are being clarified. However, the General Staff assured that the Ukrainian defense forces will continue to systematically carry out measures aimed at stopping the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.

Scale of Attacks in Crimea and the South

Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces Robert "Madjar" Brovdi clarified the details of the campaign. According to him, between July 6 and 11, Ukrainian drones struck 76 Russian vessels. Brovdi also stated that due to a series of strikes, movement through the Kerch Strait was likely completely halted.

On the night of July 11, Ukrainian forces attacked 53 military targets in occupied Crimea and in the south of temporarily occupied territories. The targets included naval assets and energy infrastructure.

Previous Successes

This is not the first such action. On the night of July 9, Ukrainian defense forces launched a massive strike on Russian targets in the Sea of Azov, hitting 12 vessels, as well as an oil terminal and an ammunition depot. Later, satellite imagery confirmed the fact of Russian tankers being hit after the attack by Ukrainian drones.
