Ukrainian supermarkets are showing relative stability on shelves with basic products, yet local price spikes have not been avoided. The main changes affected bread and eggs. RBC-Ukraine analyzed prices in major chains and compiled a ranking of the lowest offers as of Friday, June 26.
Has bread disappeared from shelves or become more expensive?
In Auchan supermarkets, the budget wheat bread priced at 14.50 UAH, which returned to shelves only a few days ago, has disappeared again. Instead, the minimum price for a half-loaf of wheat bread is up to 21.30 UAH — an increase of 6.80 UAH. This is one of the most noticeable spikes in recent times.
Eggs continue to rise in price
The trend of rising prices for Grade C1 chicken eggs in Auchan has continued: the per-unit price has risen again — from 3.00 UAH to 3.30 UAH per piece (33.00 UAH per dozen). Meanwhile, prices in other chains remain more stable, but the difference between chains is becoming more noticeable.
Buckwheat: the "Silpo" phenomenon versus others
The price phenomenon in the grocery departments continues. "Silpo", thanks to the "Extra!" brand, offers a kilogram of buckwheat for 15.69 UAH. At the same time, other chains sell the grain four times more expensive — making this item one of the most advantageous for buyers.
Milk and butter: no changes
In the dairy departments, after yesterday's rearrangements, not a single price tag has changed by a kopeck. Prices for 0.5-liter sunflower oil have completely copied yesterday's figures. The most budget-friendly option is offered by Auchan, while the most expensive is Novus.
Thus, although the overall situation on the shelves remains relatively stable, individual product categories continue to face pressure from inflation. Buyers should carefully monitor promotions and comparative prices — especially in the bread, egg, and grain segments.
