In March of this year, amidst a temporary decline in intelligence data from the US, Ukraine was able to compensate for the deficit thanks to support from the United Kingdom. Aviation expert Anatoliy Khrapchynskyi notes that British intelligence stepped up its own technical capabilities to maintain the situational awareness of Ukrainian defense forces.

The role of British intelligence during critical periods

According to the expert, when American data transmission channels experienced interruptions, London ensured a continuous stream of critical information. The process was technically complex: as intelligence systems are tools of NATO collective security, British specialists had to verify data rigorously to ensure it was sourced exclusively from national British channels, without violating Alliance protocols.

Technological gap and European security

Khrapchynskyi emphasizes a fundamental difference between US and European early warning systems. He suggests that fully-fledged equivalents to the US early warning system do not currently exist in Europe. While EU countries possess powerful radar capabilities, they often fall short of American counterparts in data processing speed and reaction time, being more focused on territorial defense tasks rather than global combat theater monitoring.

Contradictory data

There are discrepancies in assessments of ongoing cooperation. While the expert community points to issues with data timeliness, officials, including Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, confirm that intelligence sharing with the US continues. Sybiha attributes delays in air raid alerts to the enemy's use of specific new types of weaponry rather than a lack of partner support. Simultaneously, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously mentioned a lack of warnings from partners before certain massive shelling events.

It is important to note that, according to Khrapchynskyi’s analysis, the US has not provided real-time coordinates of enemy launch sites throughout the full-scale invasion. Successful strikes on such targets have been possible only through the integration of Ukrainian efforts and targeted assistance from European allies.
