Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov has made a statement following the incident in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, calling what happened unacceptable. RBC-Ukraine reports this citing the Head of the President's Office Telegram channel. According to him, such events damage the unity of Ukrainians, which is especially critical amid the ongoing Russian threat. The statement came a day after the incident gained widespread publicity in society and law enforcement structures.

Assessment by the Head of the President's Office

Budanov emphasized that the incident undermines internal unity, which, in his estimation, is of decisive importance in current conditions. That is why, according to him, it is necessary not only to figure out the circumstances of what happened, but also to ensure a response from the authorities that will prevent such situations from recurring and prevent them from becoming a pretext for further provocations.

Work of Law Enforcement Officers

According to the statement, law enforcement officers and authorized bodies are already clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. The task they must solve is to establish the full picture of what happened, determine the circle of responsible persons, and take measures to bring the perpetrators to justice. Thus, at the time of the statement, the investigation was in an active phase.

Reaction of Authorities and the Security Sector

Budanov added that the authorities, together with the security sector, are already working on the necessary decisions. Their goal is to ensure an appropriate response to the events and help prevent possible provocations in the future. This indicates that the response to the incident is viewed not as a one-time measure, but as part of a broader approach to resolving such situations.

How Events Unfolded in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka

Recall that on the evening of November 2, local residents gathered near a private house in Petropavlivska Borshchahivka. Information spread online that men who had voluntarily left military units were being held in the basement of the house. Later, Commander of the National Guard of Ukraine Oleksandr Pivnenko confirmed that National Guard servicemen were indeed inside the house, having been discovered after leaving their military unit without authorization. Following the publicity, an internal investigation was announced in the National Guard, and a promise was made to hold the perpetrators accountable.

Call to Ukrainians

Separately, the Head of the President's Office urged Ukrainians to be guided by the interests of the nation and the state when making decisions and resolving conflicts. This appeal became the concluding part of the statement and was aimed at reducing social tension around the incident and focusing society's attention on the common interests of the country.
