In Ukraine, the procedure for preparing the draft State Budget for 2027 has officially begun. The Government has approved strict timeframes for ministries and outlined key tasks that will form the basis of next year's financial document.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi, the ministries have been given a clear deadline. By July 31, they must submit proposals on the main budget parameters. This requirement is designed to ensure compliance with legally established deadlines: the final draft must be submitted to the Verkhovna Rada for consideration no later than September 15.

Three key development vectors

According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, the formation of the new document will revolve around three strategic tasks of the state. Although the full list of priorities is still being refined in detail, it is already clear that the budget will be focused on solving the most pressing problems of the current moment.

Since his appointment, Serhiy Koretskyi has repeatedly emphasized that the key tasks of the new government will be:

  • Full provision of the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
  • Strengthening the capabilities of the domestic defense industry (DIU);
  • Preparing the country for the heating season;
  • Implementation of support measures for citizens and businesses.

Optimization of the state apparatus

Parallel to budget planning, the government is launching a process to update personnel policy and review the principles of ministry operations. The Prime Minister has ordered that proposals for a comprehensive analysis of the efficiency of all ministries be prepared by July 27.

Specialists from the State Audit Service may be involved in this large-scale process. It is expected that such an audit will allow for the optimization of expenditures and increase the transparency of state structures before the approval of the budget for the next year.
