A diplomatic dispute has erupted in Beijing between China and the European Union. Lin Jian, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, responded sharply to recent statements by European diplomats during a briefing. At the center of the conflict are accusations that China is training Russian military personnel for combat operations in Ukraine.

Beijing's Sharp Reaction

Lin Jian did not resort to diplomatic euphemisms, labeling the assertions made by EU representatives as "baseless" and "pure slander." The spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected these accusations without providing additional explanations or counterarguments, limiting his response to a categorical denial.

Kaja Kallas's Accusations

The trigger for Beijing's sharp reaction was the statement by Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy. She stated that the EU possesses confirmed data indicating that Chinese military personnel are training Russian soldiers for participation in the war.

According to Kallas, the European side has already received the relevant information. According to this data, China has conducted training for hundreds of Russian servicemen at several locations within its territory. It is alleged that some of these soldiers are already at the front lines. This contradicts the official statements made by Beijing to the European side in the past.

Incident Details

Earlier, Reuters reported that at the end of 2025, China secretly trained approximately 200 Russian military personnel. The training took place at facilities in Beijing and Nanjing. Among the key areas of preparation mentioned were:

  • Operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones);
  • Electronic warfare;
  • Armored infantry tactics.

Thus, the diplomatic incident is escalating into a serious dispute over facts, where each side insists on its own version of events.
