A key stage of the admission process to vocational educational institutions has begun in Ukraine. Starting July 29, the publication of ranking lists of applicants recommended for admission to vocational colleges will commence. The Ministry of Education and Science (MES) urges applicants to pay close attention to deadlines to avoid missing the opportunity to obtain an education.

How to check admission status

Official data regarding recommendations for admission are displayed in the Unified State Electronic Database on Education Issues (ESEDBE). Personal electronic cabinets for applicants are operational from June 25 to October 15, 2026. According to the MES press service, applicants who receive a recommendation will automatically be notified in their personal cabinets.

In addition to digital notifications, applicants can independently review the ranking lists on the websites of the specific educational institutions to which they submitted their documents.

Critical deadlines

Receiving a recommendation is only the first step. For those competing for state or regional quota places, a mandatory condition is confirming the choice of one place of study. The MES emphasizes: if an applicant does not confirm their choice within the allotted time, admission under the corresponding competitive offer will become impossible.

The Ministry has established clear timeframes for various categories of students:

  • Transfer to vacant state quota places (for those initially admitted on a paid basis) must be completed no later than August 17.
  • For applicants with 11 years of education or previously obtained qualification levels (from qualified worker to master), admission to state quota places concludes on August 30.

A second chance for a state-funded place

The process of allocating places does not end with the initial list. After data updates, applicants in the ranking queue may receive recommendations for vacant state or regional quota places. This gives those who did not make it in the first wave a chance to occupy vacant positions according to their order in the queue.
