Production has officially started in Ukraine on the sequel to the popular family comedy "Nu Mam," which drew over 428,000 viewers in domestic theaters in early 2026. The project is produced by Yevhen Taller and the Kyivfilm studio, with the new feature film scheduled for a theatrical release on March 4, 2027.

New storylines and relevant themes of generational relations

The plot of the second installment will focus on the complex yet recognizable dynamics between mothers and their adult or growing children. The authors promise to address issues such as overprotective parenting, teenage rebellion, old grievances, and family secrets, while also highlighting the personal struggles of mothers hidden behind daily care for loved ones.

To write the script, producer Yevhen Taller reviewed over 300 personal stories and real accounts from viewers regarding their relationships with parents. This approach allowed the creative team to accurately capture everyday situations and make the emotional core of the film deeply relatable to a broad audience.

Star-studded cast and musical accompaniment

Well-known Ukrainian actors will return to their roles in the sequel alongside new faces joining the cast. The film features Olha and Nataliia Sumska, Irma Vitovska, Olesia Zhurakovska, Kateryna Kuznetsova, Daria Petrozhytska, Larysa Rusnak, Ostap Stupka, Volodymyr Kravchuk, Viktor Zhdanov, Oleksandr Yarema, Oleksiy Nagrudny, Yuriy Hrebelnyk, Dmytro Pavko, and Anastasiia Stefanovych.

In addition to the impressive ensemble cast, audiences will enjoy a special appearance by the popular Ukrainian band Ziferblat. The musicians will organically complement the project's atmosphere, which blends humor, dramatic moments, and the importance of mutual support.
