Ukraine is expecting a sharp change in weather. On Wednesday, June 3, a colder air mass will enter the country, bringing noticeable cooling and stronger winds. Meteorologists are warning residents to review their wardrobe and be prepared for the whims of nature.

According to a forecast from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, cited by RBC-Ukraine, the weather in different regions of the country will differ significantly on this day. While the west and east will retain summer comfort, the central and northern areas will feel the impact of the cold front.

Temperature map: where it will be warm and where it will be cool

The temperature background on June 3 divided the country into two zones. In the northern and central regions, as well as in the Odesa and Mykolaiv regions, thermometers will only rise to +17...+20 degrees during the day. For early June, this is a noticeable drop in figures.

It will be significantly warmer in the west, the eastern part, and most of the south of the country. There, the air temperature will range from +22 to +26 degrees. In Zakarpattia and the coastal areas of the extreme south, the air will warm up to +25 degrees.

Wind and precipitation: what to expect

In addition to temperature fluctuations, meteorologists are warning of windy weather. Strong gusts of wind are expected in the north, center, and south of Ukraine. The wind will blow predominantly from the southeast, creating a sensation of even greater coolness.

Precipitation will also accompany this day. Rain will pass through most regions; however, as meteorologists note, it will be mostly short-term.

Forecast for Kyiv

The capital of Ukraine will fall within the zone of influence of the cold front. In Kyiv on June 3, it will noticeably become gloomier, and there is a probability of light rain. The air temperature will drop to +17...+18 degrees.

"On June 3 in Kyiv, cloudiness will increase, there is a probability of light rain, gusty southeast wind is expected, and a temporary — for one day! — drop in air temperature to +17, +18 degrees. Dress a little warmer tomorrow," wrote meteorologist Natalka Didenko.

This cooling will be a temporary phenomenon. The first week of June as a whole promises to be rainy. Previously, RBC-Ukraine reported that summer would begin with warm days, but the rains are not receding — meteorologists predicted precipitation almost daily.

Recall that the preceding month, May 2026, in Kyiv turned out to be warmer than normal and set several temperature records. As previously reported, the average daily temperature on May 7 corresponded to the weather of late July. Now, residents will have to adapt to cooler conditions.
