German manufacturer Cube has unveiled the new Aruba Hybrid 600 Wave 2027 urban e-bike, aimed primarily at everyday city commuting. The new model is already available on the German market with a price tag of 2,700 euros. At its core are a Bosch Performance Line mid-drive motor, a 600 Wh battery, and a 5-speed Shimano Nexus internal gear hub—a combination designed for reliable operation with minimal maintenance.

Ready for Daily Commuting

Weighing around 27.9 kg, the Aruba Hybrid 600 Wave comes factory-equipped for regular use in real-world urban conditions. The bicycle features splash-protecting fenders, a fully enclosed chain guard, a rear carrier rack, as well as front and rear lights. This setup makes the model suitable for commuting and running errands right out of the box without the need to purchase basic accessories separately.

Handling and Tires

The front suspension fork offers 50 mm of travel, ensuring comfort over uneven city roads. Schwalbe Motion Big Apple tires are primarily designed for asphalt, but their tread profile also allows for light gravel and easy forest paths, expanding usage scenarios beyond the strict city limits.

Electric Drive and Transmission

The electric drive relies on a frame-mounted Bosch Performance Line mid-motor, which may not be the most powerful in the manufacturer's lineup, but is tailored for balanced propulsion on urban routes. A compact Bosch Purion 200 display handles system control. The 5-speed Shimano Nexus transmission is integrated inside the rear hub: this design allows for a fully enclosed chain guard because an internal gear hub, unlike external derailleurs, does not require lateral chain movement when shifting gears.

Model Positioning

Based on its overall specifications, the Aruba Hybrid 600 Wave 2027 is positioned as a practical urban e-bike: the enclosed transmission and chain guard reduce wear and protect clothing, while the moderately powered Bosch motor and 600 Wh battery target typical city trips. The starting price of 2,700 euros in Germany makes it an affordable offering in the segment of center-driven urban electric bicycles.
