The National Bank of Ukraine has announced the official exchange rates for July 7. The foreign exchange market is showing divergent movements: the US dollar rate remained unchanged, stabilizing at 44.56 hryvnias, while the euro demonstrated a decline. The official rate for the European currency for tomorrow is set at 50.86 hryvnias, which is 16 kopecks lower than the previous day's figure.

July forecast: seasonal lull

Experts believe that the current situation may persist throughout the month. Taras Lesovoy, Director of the Financial Markets and Investment Activities Department of Globus Bank, noted in a comment to RBC-Ukraine that July is highly likely to be a relatively calm period for the country's foreign exchange market.

According to the specialist, exchange rate stability will be supported by a combination of factors: seasonal demand, moderate inflation rates, and the absence of new geopolitical shocks. The key indicator remains the situation with fuel imports. If global oil product prices do not show sharp spikes, demand for foreign currency will remain within limits that the regulator can effectively control.

Systemic demand and autumn risks

Despite the current lull, systemic demand for foreign currency from importers will remain. The Ukrainian economy continues to depend on external supplies of fuel, energy resources, and goods necessary to support business. It is this factor that dictates the constant need for foreign currency.

However, the period of calm may end in the second half of August. Experts expect a revival in the foreign exchange market related to preparations for the autumn-winter period. During this time, demand for resources traditionally increases, which may affect exchange rate dynamics.
