The National Bank of Ukraine has determined the official exchange rates for foreign currencies for Wednesday, July 29. The market is showing divergent trends: the US dollar continues to rise, while the euro records a slight decline in value.
Dollar Trend and Euro Correction
The official exchange rate for the US dollar on July 29 is set at 44.92 hryvnias. Compared to the previous day, July 28, the American currency has increased by 7 kopecks (previously it was 44.85 UAH). This indicates the continuation of the long-term trend of dollar strengthening in the domestic market.
At the same time, the European currency showed different dynamics. After a sharp jump in value on Tuesday of 11 kopecks, the euro rate for Wednesday was corrected downwards. The NBU set the euro price at 51.06 hryvnias, which is 1 kopeck cheaper than the previous trading day (50.07 UAH).
New Commemorative Coin: Remembering the Victims of War
In addition to currency news, the regulator announced the launch of a new coin into circulation. On Tuesday, the National Bank released a commemorative coin with a face value of 10 hryvnias, dedicated to a tragic page in the country's history.
This coin was issued to honor the memory of Ukrainians who were executed, tortured, or died in Russian captivity. The release of such coins into general circulation is intended to serve as a constant reminder of the price of the struggle for independence and to honor the memory of prisoners of war and civilians whose lives were cut short in captivity.
The new coin continues the series of circulating commemorative coins that the NBU issues specifically for use in everyday cash transactions, making the memory of heroes part of every citizen's daily life.
