In the morning of July 6, the Ukrainian foreign exchange market observed a confident trend towards the strengthening of the national currency. The dollar and euro became more affordable for buyers, while quotes in banks and exchange offices demonstrated a decline. After a period of fluctuations, the market showed clear dynamics: the selling rate of foreign currency in most financial institutions decreased.

Average Market Indicators

According to the Minfin portal, the average exchange rate of the US dollar in exchange offices on Tuesday morning was 44.66 hryvnias for purchase. This is 9 kopecks cheaper than the quotes showed on Friday morning. The selling rate of foreign currency (selling dollars) dropped to 44.55 hryvnias, which is 8 kopecks lower than the level on July 3.

The European currency also became cheaper. In exchange offices, the euro can be purchased at an average rate of 51.40 hryvnias (a decrease of 5 kopecks), and sold at 51.15 hryvnias (a drop of 10 kopecks).

The situation in the banking sector is similar. The average rate for buying dollars in banks today is 44.93 hryvnias, while sales are conducted at 44.24 hryvnias. The euro in banks is offered for purchase at 51.48 hryvnias, and for sale at 50.79 hryvnias.

Rates in Leading Banks

The country's largest financial institutions have also adjusted their tariffs towards making foreign currency cheaper. Here is how prices have changed in top banks:

  • PrivatBank: The sale of cash dollars in tellers dropped to 44.85 hryvnias (-15 kopecks). When buying with a card, the rate is even more favorable — 44.84 hryvnias (-20 kopecks). The euro in branches costs 51.50 hryvnias (-5 kopecks), and non-cash settlement is 51.54 hryvnias (no change).
  • Oschadbank: In the mobile app, the dollar is offered at 44.80 hryvnias (-20 kopecks), and for cardholders — at 44.95 hryvnias (-15 kopecks). The euro in the app costs 51.45 hryvnias (-10 kopecks), the non-cash rate is 51.60 hryvnias (-5 kopecks).
  • PUMB: In tellers, the bank sells dollars at 45 hryvnias (-20 kopecks), and via cards — at 44.80 hryvnias (-30 kopecks). The euro in tellers has become cheaper at 51.70 hryvnias (-30 kopecks).
  • Monobank: The digital bank offers dollars at a rate of 44.84 hryvnias (-23 kopecks), and euros — at 51.50 hryvnias (-3 kopecks).

Where is it most profitable to exchange currency?

An analysis of current quotes shows that for purchasing foreign currency, the most attractive conditions are offered by mobile applications and non-cash sales channels. For example, in Oschadbank via the app, a dollar can be bought for 44.80 hryvnias, which is one of the lowest rates among market leaders. In PUMB, it is most profitable to buy dollars with a card — 44.80 hryvnias.

For selling foreign currency (buying hryvnias), one should focus on exchange offices, where the average purchase rate for the dollar reached 44.66 hryvnias, which is higher than bank offers for buying cash.
