The Ukrainian national tennis team has received the official schedule for the Davis Cup playoff matches against the Cypriot team. According to the Tennis Federation of Ukraine, as cited by Sport RBC.UA, the confrontation will take place on September 19 and 20, 2026, in Nicosia. Thus, the key matches for retaining a place in the group will already be held in the coming days, while the lineup and the order of players' court appearances will be determined following the draw.

A total of five matches are scheduled within the framework of the confrontation: four singles matches and one doubles. All encounters will be held on the courts of Nicosia, which makes the entire match block an away one for the Ukrainian team. The "best of five" format means that for one side to take the lead it is necessary to secure three wins, and the doubles encounter traditionally becomes the decisive element in the balance of forces.

In the Davis Cup ranking, Ukraine holds 47th place, ahead of Cyprus, which is positioned at 62nd, by 15 spots. At the same time, the recent form of the teams looks contrasting: in February the Ukrainians lost to Luxembourg with a score of 1:3, while the Cypriots recorded a crushing victory over North Macedonia with a score of 5:0. These results create a different starting dynamic for both national teams ahead of their head-to-head meeting.
