July 7 was officially declared a Day of Mourning in the Kyiv region. This decision was made following the deaths of civilians as a result of a large-scale Russian attack that took place the previous day. The Head of the Kyiv Regional Military Administration, Mykola Kalashnyk, confirmed the declaration of mourning events, emphasizing the severity of the loss.
Human Casualties and Condolences
According to official data, eight people were killed in the strike. In his address, the Head of the Regional Military Administration expressed deep sympathy to the families of the deceased, noting the tragedy of the situation: "Eight lives taken by Russia. Eight families for whom this day has forever divided life into 'before' and 'after'."
Mykola Kalashnyk also highlighted the nature of the events, stating that the enemy's actions clearly indicate a war against the civilian population. Missile strikes and drone attacks continue to hit residential areas, destroying homes and ruining people's lives.
Scale of Destruction in Vishneve
The most significant damage from the combined attack, which took place on the night of July 6 using missiles and strike drones, was suffered by Vishneve in the Bucha district. According to local authorities, the strikes led to the destruction of approximately five streets in the town.
Dozens of residential buildings sustained damage of varying degrees of severity. The situation on the ground remained critical: fires continued to burn, and rescuers worked under the real threat of secondary detonation of munitions.
Evacuation Operation
Due to the danger to the lives of residents, a large-scale evacuation was carried out. More than 600 people were evacuated from the town. Rescuers paid special attention to people who were in a shelter that ended up in the epicenter of the explosion. As a result of the rescue operation, 117 people were removed from the immediate danger zone.
