The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) has officially announced the continuation of its partnership with the national team's head coach, Luis de la Fuente. According to Sport RBC.UA, citing the organization's press office, after several weeks of negotiations and approval by the Board of Directors, the parties reached an agreement to extend the contract until 2032. The decision was made against the backdrop of the recent triumph of the "Furia Roja" at the 2026 World Cup, which was held in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

Initially, de la Fuente's contract was valid until the end of Euro 2028, and during negotiations a variant of extending it until the home 2030 World Cup was discussed, which Spain will host jointly with Portugal and Morocco.
