A serious scandal is unfolding in the Poltava region, linked to the death of a local resident within the walls of state institutions. Law enforcement agencies have initiated a criminal investigation to determine the circumstances of the tragedy that occurred in Kremenchuk. The incident, which resulted in a fatality, requires a detailed analysis of the chronology of events and a comparison of the versions voiced by the parties involved in the conflict.

Chronology of events: from the accident to the ICU

It all started with a traffic accident. According to preliminary data, the driver, who later became a victim of circumstances, was involved in a crash. The police unit that arrived at the scene conducted a standard check for intoxication. The "Drager" device showed a critical level of alcohol in the blood — 3.68 per mille, indicating a severe degree of intoxication.

Subsequent police actions led to the discovery of the citizen's status as a wanted person in inter-agency databases. After the administrative materials were processed, the man was handed over to the employees of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center (TRSSC) to carry out mobilization activities. However, instead of continuing the procedure, the man was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the "Kremenchuk" hospital, where he died from injuries received on July 9, 2026.

Clash of versions: violence or self-harm?

At the moment, the investigation is considering two diametrically opposite scenarios of events. The conflict of versions is based on the testimony of the deceased's relatives and the official position of the agency where the man was held before hospitalization.

Relatives' version
The deceased's daughter, citing publications on social media, claims that after the accident, her father was taken not to a medical facility, but to the TRSSC premises. According to her, it was during this period that the man sustained serious physical injuries, which became the cause of his subsequent death in the intensive care unit. In fact, the relatives accuse the agency employees of causing harm to health.

Official position of the TRSSC
Representatives of the territorial center categorically deny the use of physical force against the detainee. According to their statement, the citizen showed signs of acute aggression and destructive behavior. The agency claims that the man hit his head against the walls of the room himself, trying to harm himself.

Investigative actions and legal consequences

The complexity of the situation lies in the need to establish the truth in conditions where both sides insist on their correctness. A forensic medical examination has been ordered in the Poltava region, which should determine the exact pathological cause of death and the nature of the injuries. Simultaneously, a check is being conducted for possible abuse of official powers by officials.

According to Ukrainian legislation, any cases of death of persons during procedural actions or detention in state institutions are subject to mandatory investigation. To ensure the independence of the investigation, the prosecution and the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are involved in the process. The final legal assessment of the actions of all participants in the incident will be given only after the completion of the investigation.
