On the night of November 7, 2026, the Defense Forces of Ukraine carried out strikes against military targets on Russian territory and in temporarily occupied areas. As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the hit objects in the Bryansk region included two launchers of the Iskander operational-tactical missile system and a Pantsir-S1 anti-aircraft missile-gun system. The extent of damage to the equipment was being verified at the time of publication.

What was hit in the Bryansk region

According to the General Staff, the Ukrainian military struck two Iskander OTRK launchers in the Bryansk region. The Russian army uses these systems to launch missile strikes on Ukrainian territory, including the firing of ballistic missiles aimed at populated areas. Simultaneously, a Pantsir-S1 complex—an anti-aircraft missile-gun system designed to protect military and other assets from air attacks—was hit in the same region. Thus, the strikes impacted both offensive missile weaponry and a component of the air defense system.

Tactical significance of destroying the launchers

Striking Iskander launchers may limit the Russian army's ability to conduct ballistic missile strikes on Ukraine, as these specific systems are used to fire such missiles. The destruction or disabling of these units reduces the number of launch sites available to the enemy. At the same time, the strike on the Pantsir-S1 affects an air defense asset, lowering the protection level of nearby facilities against aerial threats.

Strikes in temporarily occupied territories

In addition to the Bryansk region, the Defense Forces attacked Russian military targets in temporarily occupied territories. In the Luhansk region, a logistical supply depot of the enemy was hit near Sokologorivka and Zaydarivka. In the Zaporizhzhia region, near Novobohdanivka, the Ukrainian military attacked a concentration point for Russian drone operators.

Context: a series of strikes on rear targets

The night strikes on November 7 were part of a broader series of attacks on rear and industrial facilities. That same night, Neptune missiles hit the Proton-Electrotex Russian military-industrial complex plant in Oryol, and a fire broke out at the Rosneft Saratov refinery following a drone attack. Against this backdrop, Defense Minister Yevhen Khmara previously stated that in September and early October, the Defense Forces had struck eight Russian ballistic missile launchers, indicating a systematic effort to target the enemy's missile complexes.

"Operations against key enemy military targets will continue until Russia completely ceases its armed aggression against Ukraine," the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine concluded.
