Suburban train traffic has come to a complete standstill in the Sovetsky district of Crimea. The cause of this transport blockade is serious damage to the railway infrastructure resulting from night explosions. Local residents confirm that during the night they heard a series of powerful blasts that literally wrecked the railway track.
Track destruction and suspension of suburban trains
Passenger train movement was suspended on the section between the 30 km siding and Krasnoflotskaya station. The local suburban passenger company officially announced the suspension of services. The situation at the scene appears critical: according to eyewitnesses and published footage, the rails are bent and torn apart, and thick smoke is rising above the tracks, visible for kilometers.
RBC-Ukraine, citing the Telegram channel 'Crimean Wind', reports that the exact causes of the explosions and the targets of the attack are currently being investigated. However, the consequences of the strike are already being felt by the residents of the peninsula, whose routes have been blocked.
Emergency mode and reduction of services
These events are unfolding against a backdrop of tightened control on the peninsula. On June 26, the occupation authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol introduced a regional state of emergency. Head of the administration Sergey Aksyonov justified this decision by the need to 'regulate economic issues' and ensure the stability of the population's livelihood.
However, the real picture looks different. On the eve of the introduction of the emergency mode, on June 25, Russian railway workers massively reduced the number of passenger trains to Crimea. The number of trips was reduced from 18 to 7, with all trains now running only to 'Kerch-Yuzhnaya' station, not going deep into the peninsula. The occupiers did not name the official reasons for this step at the time.
Large-scale drone attack
The reduction in train traffic coincided with a large-scale operation by the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces. On the night of June 25, Ukrainian drones struck nearly 40 enemy military and logistical facilities. Among the targets of the attack were the Tavricheskaya TPP, major substations, radar stations, as well as an oil depot in Dzhankoy. These strikes caused significant damage to the infrastructure that the occupiers are trying to use for military purposes.
