In the combat zone, the destruction of a specific military object has been recorded — a vehicle used as a mobile launch platform for 'Shahed' kamikaze drones. The operation was carried out by the forces of the 28th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after the Knights of the Winter Campaign.
Rare target in the control zone
According to information published on the brigade's official Facebook page and reported by RBK-Ukraine, the target was classified as 'rare'. It refers to a vehicle adapted for launching unmanned aerial vehicles. The detection and neutralization of such a target helped prevent potential attacks on Ukrainian cities.
Representatives of the brigade emphasized that the vehicle was destroyed in the area of Donetsk Airport. The report notes that this is the first recorded case of the liquidation of exactly this type of target in this sector. The military link their actions to the need to protect the civilian population from threats posed by the enemy's unmanned equipment.
Control over infrastructure
This event continued a series of successful operations in the airport area. Earlier, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces took full fire control of this territory. As a result of the actions taken, enemy infrastructure intended for launching 'Shaheds' directly from the runway was destroyed.
The combination of tactics involving fire strikes on stationary objects and the interception of mobile launchers demonstrates a change in approaches to fighting kamikaze drones. The destruction of the launcher vehicle at Donetsk Airport indicates that the enemy is trying to use mobile solutions to bypass control, however, Ukrainian units continue to respond effectively to such threats.
