Ukrainian parents returning to work with children aged one to three will soon be able to apply for the state 'eKindergarten' assistance without visiting government offices. The entire procedure will be available directly on a smartphone via the 'Diia' app.

This was revealed in an interview with the Ministry of Digital Transformation, published by RBC-Ukraine. The launch of the new service is scheduled for the first half of summer 2026, marking another step in the digitalization of the country's social sector.

Who can use the service

According to Valeria Koval, Deputy Minister of Digital Transformation, the application for assistance can be submitted by the mother, father, or legal guardian of the child. However, one key condition must be met: the applicant must be officially employed and working full-time at the time of submission.

"This is one of the services that will be launched soon, in the first half of summer," the official emphasized.

Payment amounts and conditions

The monthly 'eKindergarten' assistance amounts to 8,000 UAH per child. For children with disabilities, an increase factor of 1.5 applies, raising the payment to 12,000 UAH per month.

Funds will be transferred to a special 'Diia Card' account, which can be opened with just a few clicks. It is important to note that the money is earmarked: it can only be spent on the child's needs according to the government-approved list of MCC codes.

Digitalization of child benefits

The launch of the 'eKindergarten' service in the 'Diia' app is part of a broader government strategy to consolidate all 'child' benefits into a single digital ecosystem. Previously, the Cabinet of Ministers already abolished restrictions on the terms of use for earmarked payments and unified the list of permitted goods for all support programs.

These measures are aimed at simplifying the lives of parents and increasing the transparency of social fund distribution. Now, instead of paper applications and queues at institutions, all that is needed is a smartphone and access to the 'Diia' app.
