Student life in Ukraine is becoming increasingly digital. Now, to change your dormitory registration, you no longer need to spend time visiting the CNAP (Administrative Service Center) and filling out paper forms. A new service allowing you to resolve this issue online has already been launched on the state platform Diia.
A simple action algorithm
The service developers have provided a maximally transparent and convenient process for users. To change registration, a student must perform several sequential steps:
- Submit an application directly through the Diia app interface.
- Wait for the application to be approved by the educational institution.
- Pay for the state service online.
- Receive the final decision on registration.
The service clarified that the list of educational institutions connected to this option is not static. It will gradually expand, covering more universities across the country. The current list of institutions where the registration change function is already available can be found directly on the Diia portal.
Context: legislation and living conditions
The introduction of the digital service aims to simplify compliance with Ukrainian legislation norms. According to current rules, living without official residence registration is permitted for no longer than 30 days. At the same time, the responsibility for violating this norm remains relatively mild: a warning is provided for the first violation, and a fine is imposed only in the event of a repeat violation within a year.
Parallel to the digitization of administrative procedures, work is underway in the country to improve material conditions for students. Previously, media reports appeared regarding plans to modernize dormitories, for example, at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI). Family dormitories are already functioning at the university, where student couples can live in separate rooms with amenities. The cost of such accommodation ranges from 3,000 to 4,000 hryvnias per month.
