The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine has clarified the situation regarding the transition to electronic workbooks. The department officially warned citizens: the digitalization process is ongoing, but this does not pose any risks to the preservation of insurance and work seniority.

The main question worrying many Ukrainians concerns the deadline. The Ministry of Social Policy explained that the date of June 10, 2026, is not a hard final date after which the accounting system will stop working or data will be lost. The transfer of documents to electronic format has no strict completion deadline.

Myths about loss of seniority

The department categorically refuted rumors that citizens who fail to submit documents by the specified date risk losing information about their work activity. The official position is as follows:

  • After June 10, 2026, the submission of documents for digitization will remain possible.
  • The absence of an application by this date does not lead to the annulment of accumulated seniority.
  • Paper workbooks continue to remain valid documents confirming periods of employment.

Traditional paper media can still be used when assigning a pension and conducting other calculations related to the citizen's work biography.

What should pensioners do?

Special attention in the clarifications was paid to citizens who have already been assigned a pension. For this category of population, resubmission of the workbook is not required. All necessary information has already been entered into the databases of the Pension Fund of Ukraine, and duplicating actions is unnecessary.

The goal of large-scale digitization is the creation of a unified electronic accounting system. This will allow for reliable protection of data from physical wear, loss, or damage to paper documents, as well as significantly simplify their use in the future when working with the pension system.

Thus, the transition to electronic accounting of work seniority in Ukraine continues in normal mode, gradually integrating traditional documents into the digital environment without threatening the rights and interests of citizens.
