The Diia portal has implemented important technical changes that significantly ease the lives of Ukrainians forced to leave the country due to Russian aggression. The process of registering damage in the state registry has now become maximally automated.

As reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing an official statement from the developers, the key innovation concerns category A1.2 "Forced displacement outside Ukraine." Previously, citizens had to manually confirm the fact of crossing the border, which often caused technical difficulties and led to an inability to complete the application submission.

The situation has changed radically: the system now automatically pulls data on crossing the state border into the user's application. This eliminates the need to duplicate information and reduces the number of errors when filling out the form.

The main goal of these changes is to help citizens promptly record the consequences of military actions and preserve the right to future compensation for damage. The project is implemented by the Ministry of Digital Transformation jointly with the Ministry of Justice with the support of the Swiss-Ukrainian EGAP Program.

What citizens need to know

For those who are outside Ukraine, the simplification of the procedure means that now it is enough to simply log in to the application and select the corresponding section. The system will automatically check the border crossing status, making the document submission process transparent and fast.

This optimization is particularly important in conditions where many citizens continue to be in the status of displaced persons, trying to remotely manage their assets and rights. Data automation is an important step towards the digitization of state services in wartime conditions.
