The National Bank of Ukraine has fixed the official currency rates for Monday, July 27. Market dynamics showed an interesting divergence: the long-term growth of the US dollar has halted, while the Euro continued to steadily depreciate.

Dollar and Euro rates: weekly figures

The regulator set the value of one US dollar at 44.80 hryvnias. This is one kopeck lower than the figure on Friday, July 24, when the dollar cost 44.81 UAH. Thus, the multi-day trend of dollar strengthening has been stopped.

The situation with the European currency looks different. The official Euro rate on July 27 was 50.96 UAH. Compared to Friday's figure (51.05 UAH), the Euro has fallen by 9 kopecks. This indicates a continuation of the trend of declining Euro value on the Ukrainian currency market.

Bank monitoring: why transfers are blocked

Aside from exchange rates, the National Bank of Ukraine has clarified the situation regarding the blocking of financial transactions. The regulator confirmed that banks are acting strictly within the framework of financial monitoring legislation and do not have the right to arbitrarily stop transfers.

According to Dmytro Hlynsky, Deputy Executive Director of the National Association of Banks, operations that significantly differ from the client's usual behavior attract increased attention from bank monitoring.

How to unblock funds

In case a transaction is blocked, the bank is obliged to provide the client with the opportunity to confirm the legality of the source of funds. To do this, you must provide relevant certificates confirming the source of money:

  • Income documents;
  • Certificates of property sale;
  • Proof of tax payment.

Providing these documents allows restrictions to be lifted and work with the account to continue in normal mode.
