Ukrainian track and field athlete Oleg Doroshchuk won a bronze medal in the high jump at the Diamond League Final. The Ukrainian shared third place with Olympic champion Gianmarco Tamberi, while the victory in the season's decisive meet went to the Pole Mateusz Kolodziejski.
How the final unfolded
Doroshchuk started his performance confidently, clearing the bars of 2.16 m, 2.21 m, and 2.25 m on his first attempt. Along with him, Olympic champion Gianmarco Tamberi and American JuVaughn Harrison cleared this height without any misses. The decisive height was 2.28 m: the Pole Mateusz Kolodziejski unexpectedly took it on his first attempt, followed by Harrison. Doroshchuk and Tamberi failed to clear the bar, and the Italian carried over two attempts to 2.31 m but also missed, ultimately sharing third place with the Ukrainian.

The winner of the Diamond League Final was Mateusz Kolodziejski, who edged out American JuVaughn Harrison thanks to a lower number of attempts. Thus, the podium featured Kolodziejski, Harrison, and Doroshchuk and Tamberi, who shared the bronze.

For the Ukrainian athlete, this was his third Diamond League final in his career. At the two previous tournaments he had been a silver medalist, and this time he once again climbed onto the podium, cementing his status as one of the world's leading high jumpers.

Oleg Doroshchuk is the reigning world champion, won the 2025 European Indoor Championships, and also became a silver medalist at the 2026 Summer European Championships and a bronze medalist at the 2024 European Championships.
