Ukraine has been hit by a powerful atmospheric front. On July 4th, air temperatures in most regions of the country dropped sharply to +21…+26°C. Instead of the expected summer heat, the sky was overcast with clouds, and the streets were filled with the noise of downpours and thunderclaps.

The situation is confirmed by data from the Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center, as reported by RBC-Ukraine. Meteorologists warn that today, across the entire country, with the exception of the south-western regions, moderate, locally heavy precipitation is expected. In several regions, thunderstorms, hail, and gusts with wind speeds of up to 15–20 m/s are forecast.

Weather in the regions: where it will be worst

The most difficult situation has developed in the central and eastern regions. There, the rain is persistent, and the wind reaches dangerous levels. On the roads — wet surfaces, reduced visibility, possible traffic jams and accidents. In rural areas, farmers are worried about the harvest: hail can cause serious damage to crops.

In Kyiv and the Kyiv region — variable cloudiness, but without precipitation. The northern regions also remain relatively calm: rain is not expected here, although the sky is still cloudy.

The end of record heat: what meteorologists say

The wave of anomalous heat, which kept Ukraine in tension for several weeks, is finally receding. Air temperatures are gradually returning to comfortable levels. This is good news for residents of large cities, where record indicators were previously recorded — up to +38…+40°C.

«This is not just a change of weather — this is the stabilization of the climatic situation», — meteorologists note. According to them, in the coming days the temperature will fluctuate within the norm, and precipitation will help saturate the soil with moisture after a long dry period.

What should residents do?

Experts recommend:

  • Avoid walking in the open during a thunderstorm.
  • Do not park cars under trees — risk of falling branches or hail.
  • Monitor the weather forecast and road conditions before leaving.
  • Farmers — prepare shelters for livestock and machinery.

The weather in Ukraine on July 4th became a real test for infrastructure and the population. But, as the data shows, this is only a temporary phenomenon — soon summer will return to its usual rhythm.
