In the city of Galați, located near the Ukrainian border, a drone crashed into a residential apartment building. The impact hit an apartment on the 10th floor, causing a powerful explosion and subsequent fire.

The alarm signal was received at approximately 02:42 AM. At this time, Russian drones were launching massive strikes on the Odesa region of Ukraine, leading local media and Romanian residents to suspect that one of the "shot down" or off-course devices had entered the country. Authorities had preliminarily warned the population about the possibility of objects falling from the sky, but reality turned out to be harsher than the forecasts.
Romania's Emergency Response Service (ISU) promptly confirmed the incident. Firefighters, police, and specialized teams from the Information and Protection Service (SRI) arrived at the scene. Fortunately, a tragedy was avoided: two residents in the burning apartment evacuated themselves.

Back in April, drone debris was found in Romania, damaging infrastructure.
